Scopely is seeking a Technical Director, Live Operations for MONOPOLY GO! in Barcelona on a hybrid basis, three days a week in our Barcelona hub.

You will lead the configuration and live-ops landscape, shaping systems and tools to deliver faster, safer, and more efficient game configurations to players worldwide. You will combine deep technical expertise with practical leadership, guiding teams through roadmap decisions, design work, and day-to-day problem solving.

Responsabilidades

• Improve the configuration pipeline: create, validate, deliver configurations to the game and Live Operations; reduce manual effort and improve diagnosability.
• Shape the tooling roadmap with Engineering, Product, and Live Operations based on operational needs.
• Plan adoption: define ownership, training, and feedback to drive tool adoption.
• Stay hands-on: investigate problems, contribute to solution design, test ideas, and fix recurring issues.
• Lead and develop the group: coach teams and clarify responsibilities.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning with evidence-based improvements to reliability, speed, and usability.

Scopely is looking for a Technical Director, Live Operations to join our MONOPOLY GO! game team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis, working three days a week in our Barcelona hub.

We're looking for a hands-on technical leader with an operational mindset to improve how we configure and operate MONOPOLY GO! You'll help shape the systems, tools, and working practices that take game configurations from creation to players, making live operations simpler, safer, and more effective.

You’ll combine technical depth with practical leadership: understanding how things work today, challenging assumptions, and helping teams make lasting improvements. Curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to get into the details matter as much as setting direction.

What You Will Do

• Improve the configuration pipeline: Understand and evolve how configurations are created, validated, delivered to the game, and used within Live Operations. Reduce manual effort, prevent avoidable errors, and make problems easier to diagnose.
• Shape the tooling roadmap: Work with Engineering, Product, and Live Operations to identify the problems worth solving and prioritise improvements based on operational needs and impact.
• Make adoption part of delivery: Plan how teams introduce and use new tools, with clear ownership, practical training, and feedback that informs further development.
• Stay hands-on: Investigate technical problems, contribute to solution design, and work alongside teams to test ideas and turn recurring issues into lasting fixes.
• Lead and develop the group: Coach technical and operational teams, clarify responsibilities, and build shared understanding across disciplines.
• Build a culture of continuous learning: Encourage people to question established practices, experiment, share what they learn, and challenge expectations. Use operational evidence to check whether changes actually improve reliability, speed, and usability.

What We're Looking For

• Strong technical experience with configuration systems, tools, or delivery pipelines, and the ability to reason about how they work from end to end.
• Experience leading technical teams and improving systems used in live games or other continuously operated software services.
• A hands-on approach: comfortable moving between roadmap decisions, technical design, and the details of a failing workflow.
• Operational judgment: able to balance immediate delivery needs with improvements that reduce future effort and risk.
• Experience turning user needs into a focused tooling roadmap and supporting adoption through changes in day-to-day working practices.
• Clear communication and collaborative leadership, with the ability to explain tradeoffs, challenge constructively, and build agreement across teams.
• Curiosity and a commitment to developing people, sharing knowledge, and improving how the group works.

Bonus Points

• Experience with mobile free-to-play games, Live Operations, or high-volume configuration and content delivery.
• Familiarity with validation, automation, monitoring, and incident investigation.
• Practical experience using AI to improve tooling or operational workflows.
