X-ELIO, a Brookfield-owned global leader in renewables, seeks a Technical Asset Management Engineer based in Madrid. You will own the hybrid portfolio, focusing on performance, market participation, and PPAs, with growth opportunities in Australia and Japan markets.

The role requires 3+ years in renewables and fluent English, thriving in a fast-paced, international environment. You will monitor KPIs, coordinate with O&M and finance, and drive continuous improvement across asset management

Formación

• Engineering degree required.
• 3+ years in renewable energy, ideally on hybrid projects or PV solar.
• Fluent English required for international operations.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools and asset management software.
• Knowledge of PV solar and BESS is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Identify value-maximizing market participation opportunities for assets in operation.
• Manage PPAs and monitor contractual obligations with counterparties.

• Define and report technical KPIs (production, availability, performance ratio, BESS metrics).
• Analyze performance data and explain variances to Finance/Controlling.
• Serve as technical interface with external stakeholders (O&M, asset manager, grid operators).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of asset management processes and tools.

Position: Technical Asset Management

Based in: Madrid, Spain - On site (Hybrid).

We are looking for a Technical Asset Management, an Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, ideally in hybrid projects (or PV solar as an alternative), who will take ownership of our hybrid portfolio in USA, with growth potential across the Australia & Japan markets.

The selected professional will be a highly motivated professional who will take ownership of our hybrid project portfolio, with the opportunity to expand into other strategic markets such as the Australia and Japan. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and is passionate about renewable energy.

What will you do?

• Revenue & Market Participation: Identify and capture value-maximizing market participation opportunities for assets in operation, from spot markets to ancillary services, ensuring optimal revenue positioning across all dispatch scenarios. Lead RFP processes for contracting representatives and battery optimizers.
• PPA Counterparty Management: Act as the primary relationship owner for all PPA counterparties, proactively monitoring compliance with contractual obligations and managing any deviations or disputes throughout the full term of each agreement.
• Green Certificates & Environmental Attributes: Track green certificate market dynamics and maintain active dialogue with brokers to maximize returns on surplus volumes, identifying timing windows and market conditions that drive best execution.
• Technical KPI Reporting: Define, track, and report on key technical KPIs (production, availability, performance ratio, BESS efficiency and degradation, losses, etc.). Weekly coordination with O&M and monitoring departments.
• Performance Analysis & Financial Variance Coordination: Analyse performance data, identify deviations against budget, and coordinate with Finance and Controlling teams to explain variances and inform future projects.
• External Interface: Serve as the primary technical interface with external stakeholders: O&M team, asset manager, optimiser, grid operators, and regulatory authorities.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal asset management processes, tools, and reporting standards.

What do we need?

• An Engineering degree is a must, combined with solid experience in the renewable energy industry, ideally 3 years working on hybrid projects, or PV solar.
• Fluent English is require as this role operates at an international level.
• Solid understanding of the full operational lifecycle of solar PV and battery energy storage systems, including performance analysis, maintenance strategies, and grid integration.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical and operational data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Highly motivated, autonomous, and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of complex issues without day-to-day supervision.
• Prior experience at a renewable energy developer, IPP, or technical asset manager is required.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools, SCADA platforms, and asset management software.
• Experience in hybrid project management (co-located solar + BESS).
