SITA is seeking a Legal Counsel for the Borders Business Unit to advise on AI, cyber security, data privacy and regulatory matters across products and partnerships. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Privacy teams to ensure compliant, secure, and scalable solutions for global travel technology platforms.

You will engage with external counsel and ecosystem partners and help steer strategic technology partnerships and commercial transactions on a worldwide scale.

Formación

• Degree in Law with appropriate qualifications (licensed attorney, solicitor, barrister, or equivalent).
• Post-qualification certifications in AI, cyber security, data/privacy law are advantageous.
• Experience with technology, data, and commercial contracts is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Navigate rules & regulations and manage regulatory risk for SITA products and services.
• Advise tech, engineering and business units on cyber security, resilience and data requirements throughout development.
• Lead cyber incident reviews and collaborate with cyber teams.

• Define and negotiate key technology partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

SITA Lawyers As Deal Doers And Relationship Builders

• Getting our products to market across the world in a compliant way, ensuring that AI, cyber security and data legal and regulatory considerations are embedded in products and services throughout their lifecycle.
• Engaging with partners and customers on technology, cyber security, artificial intelligence and data-related matters, including support for key technology partnerships and global commercial deals.
• Pulling together the work of many across Legal, Engineering, Product, Enterprise Information Security Office (EISO), Global Privacy Office (GPO) and other stakeholders to provide practical, actionable and business-oriented legal guidance.

A Legal Counsel At SITA Is

• A fully autonomous lawyer in one or more domains: AI and CYBER SECURITY
• A collaborator, taking other ad hoc responsibilities in SITA Legal outside of those domains: DATA PRIVACY, REGULATION and SUPPLIER and STRATEGIC PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS
• A touch point who has regular engagement with external parties, including key ecosystem partners, external counsel and stakeholders involved in technology partnerships and commercial arrangements
• A consensus builder where the primary value brought may not be only “legal”, working closely with engineering, product, delivery, security and privacy teams to support business objectives.

For THIS role – Legal Counsel for the Borders Business Unit, what is the scope and responsibility?

• A key member of the Legal Department, reporting to the Head of Legal for the Americas, Airports, Data, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (Atlanta)
• Advising the Enterprise Information Security Office (EISO) on emerging cyber regulatory requirements relating to SITA products and services
• Advising Technology & Engineering teams and Business Units on cyber security, resilience and data-related requirements throughout product creation and evolution
• Leading and supporting cyber incident review and management activities in collaboration with SITA cyber teams
• Supporting the review of Artificial Intelligence usage in products and collaborating with the Global Privacy Office on customer and supplier contractual provisions
• Defining and negotiating key technology partnerships in collaboration with senior lawyers, business colleagues and ecosystem partners
• Providing guidance and advice on key commercial transactions worldwide involving technology and data-related legal matters
• Supporting SITA’s legal and regulatory positioning as a leader in travel technology
• Enabling and supporting cross-functional alignment with Intellectual Property, Regulatory, Finance & Corporate teams
• As needed, advising the Global Privacy Office on legal aspects of data, data privacy and related matters
• Managing external counsel when required
• Advising Executive Leadership Team members on strategy relating to technology, cyber security, artificial intelligence and data matters
• Delivering and supporting proactive training initiatives in these areas

Qualifications

A Legal Counsel at SITA is

• A fully autonomous lawyer in one or more domains (CONFIRM FORMAL DOMAINS: AI, CYBER SECURITY AND DATA?)
• With other ad hoc responsibilities in SITA Legal outside of those domains (NOT SPECIFIED)
• Who has regular engagement with external parties, including key ecosystem partners, external counsel and stakeholders involved in technology partnerships and commercial arrangements
• And is involved ad hoc in SITA projects where the primary value brought may not be only “legal”, working closely with engineering, product, delivery, security and privacy teams to support business objectives.

A Legal Counsel At SITA Therefore Has

• Solid experience in AI, cyber security, data and technology-related legal matters
• The ability to take an autonomous role in the domain
• Bring influence and not just legal expertise and authority

Given The Responsibilities, You Must Have

• A Degree (ideally Masters level) in Law with appropriate legal qualifications (registered or licensed attorney, solicitor, barrister, or equivalent)
• At least 12 years of post-qualification experience in a mix of private practice and industry, with a strong focus on technology, artificial intelligence, cyber security, data and related legal matters
• Post-qualification certifications and/or training in relevant subject areas, such as ECPC-AI, AIGP, ECPC-B Professional DPO, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts and the ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present and explain legal concepts clearly and effectively
• Additional language skills are desirable but not required
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and with senior legal counsel, business leaders and external partners
