Infront invites an experienced Team Lead IT Operations to join our Madrid office. You'll lead a hands-on infra and operations team of 5–6 engineers, ensuring 24/7 coverage in collaboration with our Germany-based operations group.

The role spans Linux and Windows environments, with AWS and OCI as primary clouds. You will drive automation, monitoring, and incident response, while mentoring engineers and shaping secure, reliable IT services.

• Solid networking, OS, and production dependency understanding.

• Strong ownership, curiosity, and English fluency.

About the Role

We're looking for a Team Lead IT Operations to take charge of a small, hands-on infrastructure and operations team supporting our IT platforms and services. You'll inherit a running, established team where you will be stepping in, getting close to the technology and the people, and keeping operations running at a high standard while helping the team develop.

You'll work in an environment spanning both Linux and Windows, with hands-on Linux experience essential and Windows experience a strong plus. Cloud infrastructure runs primarily on AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The team operates on-call coverage and works closely with our Germany-based operations team on shared technology and platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5–6 operations engineers, while remaining actively involved in the technical work.
• Coordinate the team's on-call rotation and work with our German Operations team to ensure effective 24/7 operational coverage.
• Act as the senior technical and operational escalation point for complex infrastructure and major production incidents.
• Drive automation and standardization, reducing manual operational work through scripting, configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Continuously improve monitoring, observability and alerting across our services and infrastructure.
• Coordinate closely with our Operations team in Germany on shared technology and cross-team alignment
• Own our cloud infrastructure operations, with a strong focus on AWS and OCI
• Drive service delivery against SLAs/KPIs: incident, request, problem, and change management
• Use incident and operational data to identify recurring problems, improve reliability and reduce operational toil. Maintain and improve operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Champion compliance and security in daily operations — vulnerability management, incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery
• Drive lifecycle management and migration of end-of-life infrastructure and operating systems onto supported platforms.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders across IT, development, and the (growing) Information Security function

Who you are

• Strong hands-on experience in Linux environments; Windows experience is a plus
• Solid experience leading or coordinating an IT operations/infrastructure team in a hands-on, player-coach role, remaining actively involved in day-to-day technical operations, including troubleshooting complex Linux, cloud, container and infrastructure issues alongside the team.
• Good understanding of networking, operating systems, infrastructure and production application dependencies.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS; OCI experience is a strong plus
• Practical experience operating containerized environments and Kubernetes, including troubleshooting workloads, deployments and platform issues.
• Strong automation mindset, with experience in scripting and configuration/infrastructure automation using tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet and/or Terraform.
• Experience with monitoring and observability across metrics, logs, alerting and dashboards, using technologies such as Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch and Zabbix.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps ways of working.
• Practical understanding of ITSM/ITIL practices, particularly incident, problem and change management.
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability: mentality to get things done and drive issues through to resolution.
• Curiosity and a willingness to challenge existing approaches constructively and continuously look for opportunities to simplify.
• Energy and a genuine interest in growing further in your career
• Awareness of compliance and security obligations in an operational environment (business continuity, disaster recovery, vulnerability and incident response)
• Fluent business English
