Our client, a fast‑growing multinational startup operating in the technology sector, is searching for a full‑time Head of Talent reporting to the Chief of People & Culture Officer (located in Madrid). The Head of Talent will design and execute comprehensive talent development and acquisition strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, business goals, strategic priorities and compliance (internal policies and regulatory requirements). Develop and implement scalable talent acquisition strategies to attract exceptional candidates across all functions, with a focus on technology roles.

Develop and own the comprehensive talent development strategy, ensuring tight alignment with regional business objectives and global People priorities.

Partner with senior leadership to forecast hiring needs and workforce planning.

Act as a strategic partner to senior business leaders and CPCO, diagnosing organizational needs and co‑creating solutions to build critical capabilities.

Oversee performance management, succession planning, and employee development programs.

Utilize data and analytics to measure and improve recruitment effectiveness and talent retention, identify future skill gaps, and forecast leadership needs.

Design, implement, and scale a suite of leadership development programs targeting all levels, from emerging leaders to senior executives.

Oversee the identification, assessment, and development of high‑potential employees, managing succession planning for critical roles across the regions.

Champion a feedback culture, equipping managers with the skills and tools to effectively develop their teams.

Evolve and manage our high‑performance management model, shifting the focus from annual reviews to continuous feedback and development conversations in alignment with organization goals.

Oversee the learning and development initiatives, including digital platforms to offer the best possible employee experience.

Partner with matter experts to design and deliver targeted training initiatives that address specific business challenges and build functional expertise.

Support employer branding initiatives to enhance our reputation as an employer of choice.

Manage and oversee the talent function budget, ensuring effective allocation and monitoring of resources across recruitment, development, and retention initiatives. Collaborate with finance stakeholders to report on budget utilization and optimize expenditures to maximize ROI aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, talent management, learning and leadership development, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role with regional scope, preferably within the technology sector.
  • Proven success building and scaling recruitment and development teams and programs applying best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices, tools and technology, such as applicant tracking systems (ATS) and human resources information systems (HRIS), and other recruitment tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across cultures, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Data‑driven mindset with experience leveraging HR data analytics and workforce metrics to inform strategic decisions, optimize hiring outcomes, and support long‑term workforce planning.
  • Highly detail‑oriented, flexible and agile, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs and drive excellence across the full talent lifecycle.
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills – identify recruitment and talent challenges, analyse options, and make informed decisions to overcome obstacles and achieve talent goals.
  • In‑depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including local labour laws, equal employment opportunity (EEO) regulations, and other relevant legal requirements for compliance when recruiting and developing employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1 or equivalent).
