Job summary

Thales Group in Spain seeks an Artificial Intelligence Science Role within Thales to drive innovation across multidisciplinary teams, support and promote AI at the highest level, and contribute to the company’s AI strategy by developing expertise in AI specialty domains.

You will work on NLP/NLU, design multimodal human-machine dialog, translate user needs into specifications, and help guide strategic and technical decisions with an outside-in perspective.

In Spain, Thales Sistemas is specialized in Command and Control systems, Tactical Communications and Modeling and Simulation addressing solutions in the domain of Defense and Security. Thales is the Spanish leader in tactical Land CIS (Communication and Information Systems) covering all the product life cycle (design, development, production, ILS). Based in Leganés, Thales Sistemas employs a highly specialized workforce of more than 100 people, most of them engineers that participate in the following activities:

• Communications and Information Systems (CIS) to support Command function and Decision Making:

• You graduated from an Engineering School with a master's degree - a PhD is a plus
• You have a proven experience in different environments and technologies using Artificial Intelligence and you have occupied a position among the following: Artificial Intelligence engineer or Artificial Intelligence specialist, start-up CTO and Artificial Intelligence expert
• You are a mentor willing to share your knowledge

LIFE AS A THALES System and IA engineer

As an Artificial Intelligence Science Role within Thales, you will:

• Bring innovation through collaborative and multidisciplinary teams
• Support, develop and promote the Artificial Intelligence discipline at the highest level of the organisation
• Contribute to Thales Artificial Intelligence strategy by developing expertise in your Artificial Intelligence Speciality domain
• Propose and design Artificial Intelligence functionalities and alternative approaches or breakthroughs
• Work on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Understanding (NLU), and also to design multimodal approaches for Human-Machin Dialog including intention understanding, reasoning and hybrid AI
• Define the system capabilities thanks to a functional, logical and value analysis, describing functions to be performed to meet the real needs of the user in the various scenarii and maximising product value for Customer
• Translate end-user needs into specifications (user centricity)
