Canonical is hiring an Engineering Manager for Sustaining Engineering to lead a distributed team focused on open source software and Linux. You will drive technical delivery, grow engineers, and influence culture while reporting to the global Director of Sustaining Engineering. Worldwide remote role with some travel.

You will manage diverse tech areas including Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph, Kubernetes, Juju & MAAS, and will champion modern development practices in a globally distributed environment.

Formación

• Experience delivering software in production environments.
• Strong leadership and ability to prioritise complex bug fixes.
• Experience with git and debugging tools (gdb/crash).
• Commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality.
• Excellent English communication, verbal and written.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and lead a distributed team of engineers.
• Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback and career guidance.
• Manage & measure KPIs and training.
• Ensure timely delivery of bug fixes, patches, and solutions.
• Demonstrate Canonical values in customer interactions.
• Set expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Advocate modern software development practices.
• Foster healthy engineering culture and collaboration.
• Work from home with up to 10% global travel.
