Opdenergy is offering a Sustainability Intern position in Madrid to join the growing ESG team. The role focuses on data collection, reporting, and supporting sustainability initiatives across the company.

The intern will assist in preparing sustainability reports, calculating carbon footprints, and maintaining ISO-based management systems, with exposure to corporate presentations and communications.

Formación

• Pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Biology, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail, proactive attitude, and hands-on approach.
• Eager to learn and contribute in a dynamic, fast-growing industry with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Eligible to sign an internship agreement with the university or institution.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in ESG data reporting by coordinating data and indicators from other departments.
• Support preparation of sustainability reports and other corporate documents.
• Assist in calculating the organization’s carbon footprint and decarbonization efforts.
• Help maintain the Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
• Format reports and prepare corporate presentations (PowerPoints, internal sustainability communications, area-specific reports).
• Collaborate on projects within the sustainability team.
• Support internal training initiatives led by the department.
• Research ESG trends and best practices in the sector.
• Analyze ESG performance of competitors and industry leaders.
• Prepare summaries of relevant regulations and standards.

Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 21 years’ experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages and operates high-quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW

We are currently looking for a Sustainability Intern to join our Madrid team.

What you will help with?

• Participating in the company’s ESG data reporting process, including requesting data and indicators from other departments.
• Supporting the preparation of the company’s sustainability report and other corporate reports.
• Assisting in the calculation of the organization’s carbon footprint and decarbonization process.
• Helping maintain the company’s Integrated Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
• Formatting reports and preparing corporate presentations (PowerPoints, drafting internal sustainability communications, area-specific corporate reports, etc.).
• Collaborating on specific projects within the sustainability department.
• Supporting internal training initiatives led by the department.
• Researching ESG trends and best practices in the sector.
• Analyzing the ESG performance of competitors and industry leaders.
• Preparing summaries of relevant regulations and standards.

Who You Are

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
