Job summary

Global Energy Management seeks a Planning & Market Optimization Expert in Oviedo to develop and optimize middle- and short-term trading strategies across Iberia and Europe. You will analyze markets and coordinate with IT/digital teams to deploy tools for bidding and reporting, while supporting the Business Plan and budget simulations.

The role requires strong quantitative skills, programming in Python/R/SQL, and fluency in English and Spanish, with opportunities to influence market operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or Business with strong quantitative focus or Data Science or Analytics.
• Experience in the power industry related to electricity markets is valued.
• Programming experience in Python, R, VBA, Excel or Azure.
• Data visualization skills using Power BI or Tableau.
• Working languages: English and Spanish; another European language is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize middle & short-term trading strategies in Iberia & Rest of Europe.
• Analyze markets (DAM/IDM/XBID/AASS/IMB/Constraints/Nomination) to maximize revenues.
• Coordinate with IT & Digitalization to deploy tools and data for bidding and reporting.
• Perform market regulations analysis and develop models for business planning and budgets.
• Support market operations with forecasting, strategy performance reviews, and cross-department reporting.
