Job summary

Global Energy Management in Oviedo seeks a Planning & Market Optimization Expert to develop and optimize middle- & short-term trading strategies across Iberia and Europe, including DAM/IDM/XBID. You will build planning and bidding models, analyze market regulations, and deploy tools for Front Office operations.

Candidates should have a strong quantitative background, experience in Python/R/SQL, data visualization, and knowledge of energy markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or Business with quantitative focus.
• Power industry experience and coding ability.
• Programming in Python, R, SQL and Excel/Azure.
• Data analysis, time series, forecasting and ML basics.
• Fluent English and Spanish; another European language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize middle- & short-term trading strategies across Iberia and Europe (DAM/IDM/XBID).
• Build planning & bidding models and analyze market regulations affecting strategies.
• Develop tools and models to support Front Office operations and market reporting.
• Coordinate with IT and FP&A to ensure robust market analysis and reporting.
