Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Private Equity Associate – Consumer & Leisure with a focus on France/Europe to join on a contract basis. The role involves building and delivering a live Excel financial model from deal documents, and peer-reviewing other models with a formal scorecard.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of relevant experience across investment banking and PE, with a consumer/leisure multi-site services focus. Paris office or French deal exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years total experience: ~2 years investment banking (Consumer / Retail or generalist M&A) followed by 1–2 years in mid-market or large-cap private equity.
• Currently or recently an Associate at a mid-market or large-cap PE fund with a consumer / leisure / multi-site services focus (fitness clubs, owned vs. franchise, multi-site roll-ups); a Paris office or French deal experience is preferred.
• Able to build a financial model from source documents, without a template.

• Build a working financial model of an assigned consumer / leisure transaction from a synthetic deal document pack.
• Deliver an editable Excel workbook with live formulas, source references, and stated assumptions.
• Peer-review two anonymized models from other contractors against a fixed set of criteria. Provide a short written rationale for each and a completed review scorecard.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while ensuring accuracy and quality in model outputs.

Position: Private Equity Associate – Consumer & Leisure (France/Europe)

Compensation: $100–$120/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20–25 hours/week
