Job summary

Opdenergy in Madrid is seeking a Storage Engineer to join our energy storage team. You will help design, implement and optimize Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and support grid integration of renewables.

You will work with cross-functional teams on modeling, sizing studies, and performance analysis, focusing on lithium-ion batteries and emerging technologies. A engineering degree and 2–3 years in storage or electrical systems are required.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical, Energy, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience in energy storage, renewables, or electrical systems.
• Knowledge of battery systems, inverters, and energy controllers.
• Experience with modeling and simulation software (HOMER, PVSyst, MATLAB, Python).

Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 19 years’ experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW.

We are looking for a Storage Engineer based in Madrid, with 2–3 years of experience to join our energy storage team in the renewable energy sector. This role will play a key part in the design, implementation, and optimization of energy storage systems, with a focus on lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies.

• Experience with integrating storage systems into the electrical grid.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and perform performance data analysis.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards for energy storage.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments
• Experience with SCADA, EMS, or Battery Management Systems (BMS).
• Certifications related to energy storage or electrical networks.
