Stage Operator / Supervisor – Virtual Production Studios
The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity for a Stage Operator / Supervisor to oversee and maintain the LED technology and digital systems within a virtual production stage. This includes managing the LED volume, camera tracking systems, real-time rendering tools (such as LiveFX, Disguise, and Unreal Engine), controlling image-based lighting, and ensuring seamless real-time adjustments during shoots.
The Role
- Set up and operate LED volumes, green screens, and tracking systems.
- Ensure real-time rendering environments (e.g. Unreal Engine) are functioning properly.
- Work closely with the Videographer / DOP and Video Engineer to synchronise virtual backgrounds with camera movements.
- Calibrate camera tracking systems to ensure accurate positioning within virtual space.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to the virtual production stage.
- Monitor performance of LED walls and adjust settings for optimal results.
- Change content, scenes, virtual lightings and move objects in 3D.
- Assist in aligning physical props and actors with virtual elements for seamless integration.
- Capture and record camera content using specialised tools, ensuring metadata accuracy and adherence to production format and quality standards.
The Person
- Experience with virtual production stages and LED volume technology.
- Proficiency with real-time engines (Unreal Engine, LiveFX, Disguise).
- Familiarity with camera tracking systems and motion capture technology.
- Strong technical troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cinematographers, directors, and video engineers.
- Understanding of colour calibration and display technologies.
