Cloudera is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural direction for Streams Messaging and Streaming Analytics, working with Apache Flink and related technologies. You will mentor engineers across distributed teams in Hungary, the US, and other locations, shaping cloud-native, hybrid-cloud streaming platforms and delivering scalable, secure features from design through production adoption.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or 8+ years of experience.
• Extensive experience building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native software.
• Strong Java skills and experience in the Java ecosystem.
• Significant experience with Apache Flink or similar stream-processing tech.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker and cloud-native architectures.
• Proven technical leadership without formal management authority.
• Experience driving complex initiatives across multiple teams.
• Excellent English communication, written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for cross-functional streaming initiatives.
• Develop expertise in Apache Flink, Cloudera Streaming, and streaming ecosystem.
• Design, implement, test, and release scalable, secure features for cloud-native platform with hybrid-cloud deployment.
• Lead architectural discussions and make decisions across distributed systems and APIs.
• Drive projects from concept through release and production adoption.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX, Support, SRE, and other teams to deliver outcomes.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across the organization.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams in Hungary, the US, and other locations.
• Contribute to engineering best practices around scalability, reliability, observability, and testing.
• Represent Cloudera in open source communities and upstream contributions.
