Preply is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to lead across Platform Tribe squads, setting technical direction and elevating reliability. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and drive scalable, AI-enhanced development practices in our Barcelona hub.

You will design and implement high-traffic platform services, improve CI/CD, and champion observability and incident readiness while collaborating with multiple engineering domains.

Formación

• Senior leader with cross-team impact and production delivery.
• Extensive hands-on experience with high-traffic distributed systems.
• Strong DevOps and cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD systems and developer workflows.
• Foundations in reliability engineering: observability, alerting, capacity planning.
• Clear communication and technical influence across teams.
• Comfort writing production-quality tooling with AI-assisted coding.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership across platform squads: architecture decisions, standards, paved paths, reusable patterns.
• Lead cross-squad initiatives to improve code-to-production delivery, including CI foundations and environments.
• Drive operability improvements: SLOs, dashboards, alerting standards, runbooks, incident readiness.
• Deep-dive into high-impact reliability issues: root-cause analysis, remediation design, and automation.
• Build and operate critical platform services for production traffic with strong quality and discipline.
• Mentor senior engineers and tech leads to raise design and execution standards.
• Use data to guide priorities and measure outcomes across teams.
• Participate in on-call and incident response to improve execution and prevention.
