As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and scaling infrastructure that supports high-impact, large-scale applications. You will design reliable, secure, and maintainable systems that enable product teams to deliver features quickly and safely. The role involves full ownership of projects from conception to production, working on infrastructure-as-code, automation, and event-driven architectures. You will collaborate closely with engineers across the organization, ensuring the platform scales efficiently as usage grows and remains resilient under high demand. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, optimizing systems, and shaping the developer experience in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.
Accountabilities
- Build and maintain infrastructure to support scalable, high-performance applications.
- Optimize existing systems for reliability, security, and efficiency, including databases, pipelines, and distributed services.
- Develop automated guardrails to ensure compliance and protection of sensitive customer data.
- Implement infrastructure to support event-driven architectures and data warehouses.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve deployment processes, feature rollouts, and monitoring.
- Own projects end-to-end, from design and development to production and post-launch support.
- Provide guidance and best practices for internal teams on platform usage, reliability, and security.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a platform, site reliability, or backend engineer in high-scale production environments.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL; familiarity with React and Apollo GraphQL a plus.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), CI / CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment automation.
- Hands‑on experience with infrastructure-as-code, event‑driven systems, and distributed services.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and optimize for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to deliver independently in a fast‑moving environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across global engineering teams.
- Comfortable balancing reliability, flexibility, and speed in product and infrastructure decisions.
- Bonus: experience in developer tooling, large‑scale recruitment or SaaS platforms, or managing on‑call responsibilities.
