Job summary

MONEI is hiring a software engineer to split time between Labs experiments and our production backend on an AWS-native serverless stack. You will lead a small team of UPC interns while writing code and shaping production systems.

Expect a hybrid schedule with two days in Málaga or Barcelona and three days remote. You should have 4+ years shipping software, strong TypeScript/Node/AWS skills, and fluent English and Spanish. You’ll own impactful features end to end.

Qualifications

• TypeScript, Node and AWS in production are mandatory.
• 4+ years shipping software in production with end-to-end ownership.
• Generalist range across APIs, AI agents, and internal tools.
• Proactive with autonomy; able to translate a one-line brief into concrete work.
• Fluency in AI-first workflows and daily usage of AI tools.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading teams of juniors.
• Professional English and Spanish (C1+).

Responsibilities

• Turn ideas into working products quickly, especially Labs experiments.
• Build and maintain production backend with services, APIs and data models.
• Decide what to keep or kill; provide early honest feedback.
• Lead and grow a team of 2–3 UPC interns, onboard and review their work.
• Break down work so juniors can ship deliverables within three months.
• Build with AI properly; leverage AI tools in development and production.
• Set expectations for tests, docs, security reviews before handover
