Super is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to work across multiple services, partnering with senior leadership to tackle cross-area technical challenges and steer platform evolution.

You will influence architecture, drive scalable, reliable systems, and contribute to core components (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka) as we expand across Europe and Latin America.

Formación

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in large-scale production environments.
• Experience designing solutions that impact multiple teams or tribes.
• Experience engineering high-quality, scalable software.
• Strong system design fundamentals in distributed systems.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and plan clear strategies.

As a Staff Software Engineer at Super, you will operate far beyond the scope of a single team or service, working directly with senior engineering leadership to tackle large, cross-area technical challenges that span dozens — sometimes hundreds — of services across the platform. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of architecture, strategy, and execution, suited to someone who thrives on complex systems and ambiguous problems. You will help shape technical direction, guide major platform evolutions, and ensure our systems remain scalable, reliable, and efficient as we grow.

What the role involves

• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and teams to design and implement scalable, robust software solutions
• Analyse complex system challenges and develop clear strategies for improving architecture, scalability, and platform efficiency
• Drive large cross-team initiatives from concept to execution, influencing decisions and aligning multiple teams
• Enhance system automation across scale, resiliency, and deployment
• Build and improve core platform components and shared libraries (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka) used across the organisation
• Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and drive platform-wide improvements
• Build on our cloud-native platform, enabling greater use of AWS technology to accelerate delivery, scale, and resiliency
• Grow the engineering community, elevating standards and helping teams operate more efficiently

What we are looking for

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale production environment
• Experience designing and implementing solutions at an organisational level, impacting multiple teams or tribes
• Experience engineering high-quality, highly scalable software
• Strong system design fundamentals, particularly in distributed systems
• Ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop clear strategies
• Comfort working in ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams
• A passion for creating user-centric, data-driven solutions
• Willingness to learn new technologies (our stack includes Golang and Erlang)
