Super is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Player – Transact Tribe, building the next generation of sports betting and entertainment platforms across Europe. You will design scalable services and evolve core components, using Go, Erlang, or Elixir, with a strong emphasis on observability and automation.

You will collaborate with leadership to shape architecture, drive improvements, and deliver robust cloud-native solutions using AWS and related technologies.

Formación

• 6+ years in a large‑scale production environment.
• Experience delivering high‑quality, scalable software in OO or functional languages.
• Experience building and improving observability and distributed systems.
• Passion for clean code, automated testing, and continuous deployment.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to design and implement scalable software solutions.
• Improve the platform to increase end-user configurable business functionality.
• Enhance system automation around scale, resiliency, and deployment.
• Build core platform components and shared libraries (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka).
• Develop on the CloudNative platform, expanding use of AWS to accelerate delivery and scale.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join the Player – Transact Tribe, a team with organisation-wide impact and deep connections across multiple engineering areas. In this role, you will help shape systems that power critical functionality across the business and connect multiple engineering domains.

What the role involves

• Collaborate with engineering leadership and teams to design and implement scalable, robust software solutions
• Improve the existing platform to increase the amount of business functionality driven by end-user configuration
• Enhance system automation across scale, resiliency, and deployment
• Build and enhance core platform components and shared libraries (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka) used across the organisation
• Build on the CloudNative platform, enabling greater use of AWS technology to accelerate delivery, scale, and resiliency
• Analyse complex system challenges and drive improvements to architecture, scalability, and platform efficiency
• Drive technical initiatives from concept to execution, influencing decisions and aligning multiple teams
• Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the wider business to understand and drive improvements across the platform
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency

What we are looking for

• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience in a large‑scale production environment
• Experience engineering high‑quality, highly scalable software in an object‑oriented or functional language
• Experience working with distributed systems
• Experience building and improving observability
• A passion for clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing, and continuous deployment
• A passion for working in the cloud and automation
• Familiarity with any of the following technologies: Golang, Erlang, or Elixir
• A user‑centric, data‑driven approach to building solutions
• Willingness to learn new technologies

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services (CloudFormation, MSK, S3, Cognito, etc.)
• Knowledge of Kafka
• Interest in functional programming
