Preply is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer in Barcelona to lead the design of scalable analytical data models and the evolution of our BI layer. You will own robust ETL/ELT pipelines and collaborate with Product, Growth, and Engineering to empower data-driven decisions at scale.

You will set analytics engineering standards, mentor teammates, and drive data quality and governance. Fluency in English and a proactive mindset are essential for success in this role.

Formación

• Extensive experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or related roles handling complex, high-impact data systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with Python used in data workflows.
• Proven track record designing scalable analytical data models supporting experimentation, reporting, and decision-making.
• Hands-on experience with dbt, Looker, Airflow, or similar tools.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, analytics architecture, and self-service BI platforms.
• Strong business acumen with ability to translate ambiguity into data-backed solutions.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design and evolution of core analytical data models across key business domains, ensuring clarity and scalability.
• Define and champion analytics engineering standards, including modeling patterns and testing strategies.
• Build and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines handling multi-terabyte data with reliability and performance.
• Own and evolve our BI and semantic layer (Looker/LookML) for self-service analytics.
• Partner with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Engineers to streamline analytical workflows and reduce duplicated logic.
