Factorial is seeking Staff Engineers to lead the shift toward AI-powered business management software, embedding AI as a core capability rather than a feature. You will shape design, build scalable AI-native product experiences and mentor teams in a fast-growing context in Barcelona or Madrid.

You will own end-to-end systems, work with Product, Design and Leadership to weave AI into the product roadmap, and raise the bar through mentoring and hiring. English is required; Spanish is a plus.

Formación

• Strong backend and frontend software engineering capabilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Shipping real products to production, not just prototypes.
• Deep understanding of APIs, cloud platforms and system design.
• Recognized as a technical and cultural leader with high standards.
• Drive adoption of new abstractions that are usable.

• Lead spec-driven development with clear expectations before shipping.

• Establish evaluation frameworks for trustworthiness and reliability.
• Shape retrieval-augmented generation strategies balancing probabilistic models with deterministic truth.
• Architect human-in-the-loop and agentic workflows using LLMs, rules and oversight.
• Own end-to-end systems from problem discovery to maintenance.
• Stay connected to customers for context-driven decisions.
• Partner with Product, Design and Leadership to weave AI into the roadmap.

• Shipped tangible impact, whether at work or on the side.
• Lead key technical decisions and create foundational work used across the company.
• Communicates clearly in English; Spanish is a plus.

How We Work

We follow an office‑first, flexible schedule: on‑site several days a week for collaboration, with remote work allowed when it makes sense for focus or personal needs. Barcelona or Madrid office is available.
