haddock (YC W22) is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work on SaaS applications and engineer AI workflows. Located in Barcelona, the role includes project management, technical solution architecture, and a balance of backend and frontend development.

With 3+ years in engineering and Agile methodologies, candidates fluent in Spanish and comfortable in English will thrive. The company offers a hybrid work environment, competitive salary, and a modern office in Poblenou.

Formación

• 3+ years of engineering experience working on SaaS applications in Agile environments.
• End-to-end product engineering experience from ideation to testing.
• Experience with infrastructure services and tools.

Responsibilities

Engineers at haddock are action-oriented, curious, autonomous, and take full ownership of their work.

• Architect technical solutions
• Build backend and frontend code (80% backend, 20% frontend)
• Engineer AI workflows, balancing latency, cost and accuracy
• Do your own project management, rolling out your initiatives to customers
• Track users, measure interactions and extract conclusions
• Talk to customers to validate ideas and get feedback

Example Work

• Enabling Fina to match bank movements with invoices, finding gaps and reporting them to the suppliers via AI phone call.
• Enabling business data to tell the story of the restaurant to their owners, displaying them financial metrics and insights, and enabling AI agents to work on that data.
• Increasing adoption of inventories to 50% of customers, a crucial part of operations at a healthy restaurant business.
• Building MVPs for traceability, enabling groups of restaurants to comply with food health inspections, and evolving it based on feedback.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering experience working on SaaS applications in Agile environments.
• Product Engineering experience: end-to-end from ideation, infrastructure, backend, frontend, testing, etc.
• Experience setting up or working with infrastructure (using services, serverless functions, databases, external APIs, caches, queues, events, etc.).
• Very good use of AI tooling.
• Fluent in Spanish and comfortable in English.
• Previously built AI workflows for production is a plus.
