Align Technology is seeking a proactive Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our 3D manufacturing software team. You will own the quality strategy for business-critical 3D/CAD/CAM software products and drive quality initiatives across multiple projects.

You will design test approaches, lead testing activities across the SDLC, and build scalable automation using Python. Collaboration with product owners and engineers is essential to ensure quality from design through release.

Formación

  • 8-12 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Development Engineer in Test roles.
  • Experience testing complex desktop applications, engineering software, or 3D/CAD/CAM systems.
  • Strong understanding of 3D geometry concepts, mesh-based models, and geometric data processing.
  • Ability to reason about geometric algorithms and effectively validate the results of geometry-processing operations.
  • Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, quality engineering practices, and modern SDLC processes.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing automated test solutions using Python.
  • Experience defining test strategies and leading testing efforts for medium-to-large projects.
  • Experience with non-functional testing, including performance, scalability, reliability, and stability testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex technical issues.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate English (B2+).

Responsabilidades

  • Own the quality strategy for business-critical 3D/CAD/CAM software products and drive quality initiatives across multiple projects.
  • Define test approaches, quality gates, and success criteria for complex software releases.
  • Design, review, and improve test strategies, test plans, and test cases with comprehensive coverage of requirements.
  • Lead testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle, including estimation, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Verify the correctness, reliability, and performance of geometry-intensive software workflows used in digital manufacturing.
  • Analyze complex software behavior, investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution of quality issues.
  • Build and maintain scalable test automation solutions using Python and modern testing frameworks.
  • Drive quality engineering practices within CI/CD pipelines and continuously improve automation coverage.
  • Conduct functional, integration, system, performance, and hardware-software validation testing.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Software Engineers, and Architects to clarify requirements, identify risks, and ensure product quality from design to release.
  • Mentor QA engineers, promote testing best practices, and contribute to the evolution of the team's quality culture.

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our 3D manufacturing software team. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of complex 3D applications that drive cutting-edge innovations in engineering and manufacturing.

This is a complex process that requires an innovative way of thinking when it comes to something that hasn't been done before.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will…

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

In this role, you’ll need…

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Git, and test management tools. Knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques.
  • Experience with medical device, manufacturing, or digital production software.
  • Exposure to 3D/CAD tools such as Solidworks, Geomagic, or Magics.
