Job summary

embecta is seeking a Senior Director of Finance Analytics & Insights to design and build the enterprise reporting capability from the ground up. You will own the product, partner with IT, define the analytics strategy, and deliver a governed self-service environment for finance and business partners.

The role requires 15+ years in finance/FP&A, a track record of building enterprise reporting capabilities, and a strong focus on data governance, SOX compliance and AI-enabled insights.

The Senior Director of Finance Analytics & Insights will envision, design and build the company's enterprise reporting and analytics capability from the ground up. This leader will create a capability that brings together data, systems and best‑in‑class analytics to become the single source of truth for the company's financial information. The role will enable self‑service reporting for both finance and non‑finance business partners and will position Finance to take full advantage of AI and advanced analytics. As the finance product owner for all reporting and analytics development, this leader will partner closely with IT to turn business needs into scalable, governed and trusted solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategy and Vision Define and own the multi‑year reporting and analytics strategy and roadmap for Finance, aligned with company priorities and the broader data and technology agenda.
• Assess the current reporting landscape, identify gaps and redundancies, and build the case for change with senior finance and business leadership.
• Single Source of Truth and Governance Establish the company's single source of truth for financial information, including standardized metric and KPI definitions, business logic, and data lineage.
• Build a governance framework covering data quality, access, controls and documentation, aligned with SOX and internal control requirements.
• Rationalize and retire legacy and duplicative reports as the new capability scales.
• Self‑Service Reporting and Analytics Deliver a governed self‑service reporting environment that empowers finance and non‑finance users to access trusted data and answer their own questions.
• Drive adoption through training, enablement and a strong user community across regions and functions.
• Deliver executive‑level reporting and insights for the CFO, leadership team and Board as needed.
• AI, Automation and Advanced Analytics Identify and deliver AI and automation use cases across Finance, such as automated variance commentary, anomaly detection, predictive forecasting, and natural‑language or agent‑based interaction with financial data.
• Ensure the data foundation is AI‑ready and that AI is used responsibly, with appropriate controls, explainability, privacy and access governance.
• Stay current on emerging analytics and AI technologies and bring forward the ones that create real business value.
• Finance Product Ownership Serve as the finance product owner for all reporting and analytics development, partnering with IT to translate business requirements into data models, platforms and solutions.
• Own the product backlog and prioritize by business value, adoption and risk; lead requirements definition and user acceptance testing.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and implementation partners where relevant.
• Business Partnership Build strong partnerships across global and regional FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, and business owners outside Finance.
• Act as a trusted advisor who helps stakeholders clarify their data needs and translate them into actionable reporting and analytics.
• Team Leadership Build, lead and develop a team of reporting, analytics and data professionals, setting a high bar for quality, innovation and customer focus.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
• MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, reporting or analytics, including significant leadership experience in a complex, global organization.
• Proven track record designing and building an enterprise reporting or analytics capability, ideally from an early stage.
• FP&A and business finance experience across budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and performance management with a strong understanding of the financial drivers of the business and how finance and non‑finance leaders use information to make decisions.
• Experience acting as a business or product owner for finance data and reporting solutions in partnership with IT or engineering.
• Track record leading finance transformation, including automation, standardization or AI‑enabled insights.
• Experienced people leader with a track record of attracting top talent and building high‑performing, multidisciplinary teams that blend finance, data and analytics expertise, with a strong commitment to developing people, growing future leaders, and creating a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning, including upskilling teams in AI and advanced analytics.

Preferred Experience

• Preferred Experience deploying AI, machine learning or generative AI solutions in a finance context.
• Experience in a public‑company environment with SOX controls.
• Background in product management or agile delivery methods.
• Hands‑on familiarity with modern data and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks, SAP S/4HANA or BW, planning tools).
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and explain technical concepts in business terms.
• Strong understanding of finance processes across FP&A, close and controllership, and ideally supply chain finance, tax and treasury #LI-DF1 #LI-HYBRID
