Barry Callebaut Manufacturing Iberica SA in Spain is seeking a Specialties Responsible to own performance and continuous improvement of a production area. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead a team of up to 20 employees and drive safety, quality and productivity.

You will set daily and monthly plans, monitor line performance, support line transformation, and coach the team to meet efficiency targets while upholding global standards.

Formación

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Engineering/Manufacturing preferred.
  • 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment with leadership in production.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety, quality and data usage.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and problem solving.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead safety, GMP, housekeeping and daily operation decisions.
  • Maintain high production area standards and drive line performance.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and ensure quality and equipment standards.
  • Drive DMS execution, plan near-term activities and coordinate schedules.
  • Monitor line performance and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Coach and develop a team of up to 20 employees; drive ownership.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, SHE and Engineering.
  • Apply global standards and lead teams through change.

About the role:

As a Specialties Responsible, you will take ownership of the performance, efficiency and continuous improvement of a dedicated production area. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead a team of up to 20 employees while driving operational excellence, safety, quality and productivity.
This is a key leadership role for someone who combines strong manufacturing expertise with a hands-on leadership style. You will act as the owner of your production cell, ensuring that business priorities, operational performance and people development are aligned with Barry Callebaut's goals.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead by example in safety, GMP, housekeeping and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure high standards are consistently maintained across the production area.
  • Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Uphold equipment standards and ensure compliance with quality and operational requirements.
  • Ensure disciplined execution of Daily Management Systems (DMS).
  • Plan and coordinate activities for the next day, week and month.
  • Monitor line performance and continuously improve efficiency, quality and reliability.
  • Support and drive line transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 20 employees.
  • Ensure accountability for performance and business results.
  • Identify capability gaps and implement development actions.
  • Create an environment that encourages ownership, engagement and growth.
  • Understand production schedules, business priorities and operational objectives.
  • Make decisions with the broader business impact in mind.
  • Actively contribute to achieving productivity, quality, safety and efficiency targets.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, SHE and Engineering teams.
  • Implement global standards and best practices.
  • Lead teams through change and operational challenges.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to improve performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellences.
About you:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in production, quality and safety-related activities.
  • Strong understanding of operational systems, manufacturing processes and line performance.
  • Knowledge of IWS/BCOS methodologies, Autonomous Maintenance and continuous improvement practices is an advantage.
  • Experience using data and operational systems to support decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills, including coaching, active listening and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to influence and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Hands‑on, resilient and adaptable leadership style.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Passion for manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in challenging situations
