Vodafone IoT is seeking a Customer Solutions Specialist to manage bespoke customer demand, coordinating across Customer Operations, Solution Architects, Product Management and Technology delivery teams. You will balance backlog ownership, technical viability and budget governance while supporting governance and cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid Madrid-based setup.
At Vodafone, we’re not just shaping the future of connectivity for our customers – we’re shaping the future for everyone who joins our team. When you work with us, you’re part of a global mission to connect people, solve complex challenges, and create a sustainable and more inclusive world. Joining Vodafone IoT’s team means being part of a growing, purpose-driven organisation at the forefront of innovation. Our teams are made up of curious minds, problem-solvers, and forward-thinkers across the world who thrive in a collaborative, high-performing, inclusive environment.
The Customer Solutions Specialist manages bespoke customer demand into Vodafone IoT Technology, acting as the primary interface between Customer Operations, Solution Architects, Product Management and Technology delivery teams.
The role exists to ensure that customer-specific requirements are understood, shaped, assessed, prioritised and delivered in a controlled, commercially aware and technically viable way. This includes both simple bespoke configuration-led changes and more complex customer solutions requiring impact assessment, cross-domain coordination, roadmap alignment, architecture input, budget visibility and delivery governance.
You will work closely with Solution Architects to translate customer and bid requirements into clear solution scope, impact assessments, delivery options, technology requirements and implementation plans. You will ensure that demand entering Technology is sufficiently defined, aligned to existing standard capabilities where possible, and routed through the appropriate delivery path, whether simple bespoke delivery, backlog-based delivery, customer-funded change, or formal NPD / programme delivery.
The role will retain selected Product Owner responsibilities, including backlog ownership, feature and user story definition, prioritisation, acceptance criteria, dependency management and participation in PI / SI planning. However, unlike a traditional Technology Product Owner role focused primarily on a product or platform roadmap, this role is centred on managing customer-led bespoke demand and ensuring smooth execution across Technology teams.
You will also have increased delivery management responsibilities, ensuring that agreed customer solutions progress from demand intake through impact assessment, planning, delivery, testing, readiness and handover. This includes maintaining delivery visibility, managing risks and dependencies, coordinating stakeholders, supporting governance, and ensuring commitments made during bid, customer change or solution design activities are realistic and deliverable.
The role is critical to improving the handling of bespoke customer demand, reducing ambiguity between Solution Architecture and Technology delivery, increasing accountability for customer-specific outcomes, and ensuring Technology teams can respond to customer needs without undermining strategic roadmap priorities, cost control or operational stability.
