The Vodafone Internet of Things (IoT) suite of products and services are designed specifically to meet the needs of new and evolving business verticals.

• Promote modern Engineering practices, tooling, and methodologies across platform engineering teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and evolving tech strategy.
• Define and promote the right ways of working across engineering domains, cross engineering functions, other technology teams (Architecture, Technology Product, Delivery, Networks) and with business stakeholders.
• Support demand management & prioritization within Platform Engineering team.
• Drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Ensure that IoT Platform keeps evolving to reduce run costs, becoming more efficient and productive.
• Support the delivery of improvement programmes across the engineering functions, including support for RPF/RFQ/RFIs.
• Ensure alignment with business objectives and emerging IoT industry trends.
• Define the baseline and target for cost‑efficiency targets, including resources and people.
• Support and influence location strategy and insourcing/outsourcing steps to deliver platform engineering goals.
• Support KTLO portfolio management, ensuring goals are delivered in time & form – this implies leading prioritization decisions in internal engineering and external forums.

Who You Are

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Ten or more years of experience in Engineering or Operational functions.
• A minimum of 5 years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting, and leading talent.
• Strong talent management skills including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and team motivation for geographically distributed teams.
• Strong leadership capability with proven track record of successful cross‑team development and working effectively with all organizational levels.
• Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
• Strong ability to build and maintain cross‑functional partnerships at all levels of the organization.
• Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype.
• Strong business acumen and ability to understand and drive business objectives.
• Expertise in budget planning, financial management and workforce management.
• Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and information management across the organization.
• Expertise in strategic planning, governance formulation, and organizational change management.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
• Strong organizational skills, including an ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
