Open Cosmos seeks a Space software engineer to design and maintain satellite flight software. You will work on Linux/RTOS systems, implement features, and ensure robust, traceable code integrated with ground tools and CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate across Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations to deliver reliable software for space missions, guided by ECSS standards and fault-tolerant design principles.

Formación

• Experience in Rust or willingness to transition to Rust in production.
• Strong C or C++ background with focus on performance and reliability.
• Hands-on Linux development and scripting abilities.
• Understanding of embedded/space software standards (ECSS) is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, validate, and maintain satellite flight software.
• Support ground tools, ensuring robustness and traceability.
• Develop features for Linux and RTOS-based systems per mission needs.
• Participate in code reviews, testing campaigns, and CI/CD processes.
• Maintain configuration control, documentation, and traceability.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations teams.
• Contribute to post-launch operations and integration activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in architecture and engineering processes.
