FOSSA Systems, based in Madrid, seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Madrid software team. You will develop firmware for embedded devices across Space, Ground, and User segments, focusing on flight assets and ground stations for satellite control and IoT devices.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver robust low-level firmware, debug embedded systems, and contribute to system architecture definitions in a Linux environment.

Formación

• Degree in Telecommunications or Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of related experience.
• Experience with C, C++ and Python low-level programming.
• Experience with debugging embedded systems (STM32, Raspberry Pi, ESP32).
• Familiar with CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, SPW protocols.
• English proficiency required.
• Experience developing embedded software in Linux.

Who are we looking for?

FOSSA is actively looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our software department in our Madrid office.

As an embedded engineer you will be able to program different devices across all FOSSA engineering segments (Space, Ground, User). With special focus in the continuous development of FOSSA flight assets, comprising its ground stations for satellite control and its IoT devices.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement firmware for embedded devices and systems, from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
• Closely working with hardware and other departments to design and build unit firmware and high-level satellite applications.
• Support the definition of satellite and other systems architecture.
• Work on digital and analog embedded hardware.
• Prepare and maintain software detailed design and implementation documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.

Profile:

• Telecommunications or Electronics Engineering degree or similar.
• 3 to 5 years of minimum related experience.
• Experience with C, C++ and Python low-level programming languages.
• Familiarity with debugging embedded systems (STM32, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, etc.).
• Basic understanding of circuit schematics and layouts.
• Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, SPW, etc.).
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Demonstrable interest in the space sector.
• Experience developing embedded software in Linux environment.
• Experience working with digital HW (programmers, JTAG, oscilloscope, etc.).
