Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid is seeking a skilled Sommelier to join our Food & Beverage team and deliver an exceptional wine and beverage service for guests. Based in Madrid, the role involves advising guests, managing the wine cellar, collaborating with service and kitchen, and upselling premium wines and hotel experiences to elevate every dining moment.

The successful candidate will bring formal sommelier training or proven luxury hospitality experience and showcase impeccable presentation

Formación

• Formal training and/or proven experience as a Sommelier, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of wines, beverages and food pairing.
• Excellent guest‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and quality standards.
• Impeccable personal presentation.
• Full alignment with Mandarin Oriental values, Pillars and LQEs.

Responsabilidades

• Providing professional and personalised wine and beverage service.
• Advising guests on wine and beverage selection, offering appropriate food pairings.
• Ensuring flawless service execution at assigned tables or sections.
• Contributing to the creation, update and promotion of the wine and beverage list.
• Supporting wine cellar operations: receiving deliveries, stock control, storage and preservation.
• Assisting with ordering, inventory management and sales forecasting of wines and beverages.
• Maintaining cleanliness and proper use of cellar equipment and tools.
• Demonstrating full knowledge of menus, allergens and dietary requirements.
• Preparing and serving beverages, including wines, cocktails and hot drinks, when required.
• Supporting special events and VIP services.
• Collaborating closely with service, kitchen and other hotel departments.
• Managing billing and payments while ensuring a warm farewell to guests.
• Actively promoting upselling of wines, beverages and hotel services.

About The Job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, within the Food & Beverage Department, the Sommelier is responsible for delivering an exceptional wine and beverage service, advising guests, managing the wine cellar and ensuring full compliance with Mandarin Oriental quality and service standards.

The role reports to the Assistant Head Sommelier and the Head Sommelier.

As a Sommelier, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

• Providing professional and personalised wine and beverage service.
• Advising guests on wine and beverage selection, offering appropriate food pairings.

As a Sommelier, We Expect From You
