Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Senior System Engineer / Solution Architect to lead CMDM architecture across global data ecosystems from the Barcelona area. You will design, govern, and evolve Master Data Management solutions, aligning with enterprise standards while enabling scalable integrations with Veeva Network and downstream data consumers.

The role requires deep expertise in data architecture, APIs, cloud technologies, and data governance, with strong stakeholder engagement and English

Formación

• Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or Mathematics preferred.
• Several years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, or related leadership roles.
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), customer data platforms, enterprise integrations, and large-scale business applications.
• Proven success designing and implementing enterprise solutions in global, cross-functional environments.
• Strong understanding of architecture principles, integration patterns, APIs, cloud technologies, and data platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and enterprise integration best practices.

Join our IT EDS Master Data Platform Services - Customer Engagement team as a Senior System Engineer/Solution Architect. We are a forward-thinking team, always designing new and innovative systems in Master Data Management.

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and evolving Customer Master Data Management (CMDM) solutions that support Boehringer Ingelheim's global customer data ecosystem. The role provides end-to-end architecture leadership across Veeva Network, customer data integrations, downstream data consumers, and master data services while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives. The Solution Architect serves as the bridge between business requirements, product strategy, and technical implementation, ensuring scalable, compliant, and sustainable solutions that support global operations and future growth.

Tasks And Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of Customer Master Data Management (CMDM) solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and strategic business objectives
• Define and govern solution architectures, integration patterns, APIs, data flows, and technology designs across Veeva Network and related customer data platforms
• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Capability Leads, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, sustainable solutions
• Provide architecture leadership across the full delivery lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and operational support
• Lead architecture reviews, maintain architecture documentation, and ensure adherence to security, compliance, data privacy, and quality standards
• Drive architectural consistency across customer master data platforms, integrations, and downstream applications
• Identify technology risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and support the long-term evolution of the global CMDM landscape
• Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to advance customer data, data governance, and integration initiatives

Requirements

• Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or Mathematics preferred
• Several years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, or related technical leadership roles
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), customer data platforms, enterprise integrations, and large-scale business applications
• Proven success designing and implementing enterprise solutions in global, cross-functional environments
• Strong understanding of solution architecture principles, enterprise architecture frameworks, integration patterns, APIs, cloud technologies, and data platforms
• Knowledge of customer master data management, data governance, data quality, and enterprise integration best practices
• Ability to create architecture documentation, solution assessments, and technical roadmaps
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and business-aligned technology solutions
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing capabilities
• Ability to translate business objectives into practical technology solutions
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Willingness and readiness to travel
