Novanta, a global innovator powering healthcare and manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager in Barcelona. You will lead the AdvanCloud platform team at Keonn, overseeing cloud architecture, AWS deployments, and real-time RFID/IoT software initiatives for global enterprises.

This hybrid role blends technical leadership with strategic collaboration across product, security, and business stakeholders.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Software Eng or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software team management.
• Experience leading cloud platform development is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in English; Catalan/Spanish a plus.

Software Engineering Manager Barcelona, Spain · Full Time · Hybrid

Keonn is a manufacturer of RFID hardware and software products for different sectors, like retail, healthcare, libraries, industry and logistics among others. We provide RFID systems mainly for the retail and healthcare sectors, as well as RFID UHF components for any industry. Keonn's team is comprised of experienced engineers and PhDs with deep knowledge in fields like radiofrequency, antennas, electronics, robotics, firmware, and cloud-based software. Keonn became part of Novanta recently.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Software Engineering Manager to lead the AdvanCloud platform team at Keonn. AdvanCloud is our core cloud product: a mission-critical SaaS platform that powers real-time RFID data processing, inventory management, and retail analytics for global enterprise customers. In this role, you will help shape the technical direction of the platform, guide a multidisciplinary engineering team, and work closely with product and business stakeholders to turn ideas into scalable, high-quality software solutions. You will play a key role in defining the SW platform architecture, ensuring technical coherence, and helping bring our product vision to life. Drive the technical direction of the AdvanCloud platform, with a strong focus on software architecture and cloud-native solutions. Make architectural decisions that ensure scalability, maintainability, security, and long-term evolution of the platform. Translate product ideas and business vision into concrete technical solutions and actionable development plans. Manage team of SW engineers developing Cloud platform. Work with stakeholders to refine requirements, define priorities, and ensure the team is delivering high-value outcomes. Coordinate day-to-day execution and help remove technical or organisational blockers. Support Agile delivery processes and keep the team aligned, focused, and productive. Oversee cloud infrastructure in AWS, including deployment processes, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency. Contribute to AI-related initiatives, helping define use cases and guide experimentation and integration. Work with the team to identify and address security and compliance considerations. Collaborate with external partners and internal teams on third-party integrations and platform dependencies. Report progress, risks, and key decisions to leadership.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in software team management.
• Proven experience in people leading roles.
• Leading Cloud platform development is an advantage.
• Strong background in software architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and modern backend development.
• Ability to translate product and business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience in AI-based features or chatbot solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance technical depth with team leadership.
• Proficient level of English; Catalan or Spanish is a plus.
• Eligible to work legally in Spain (permanent residency or holding a work permit).
• We Prefer Experience with RFID, IoT, or retail technology is a plus.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks is a plus.
