Ormco is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Madrid to design and implement features for desktop and console applications that generate patient anatomy from dental scans. You will work in a distributed international cross-functional Agile team and contribute to planning upcoming releases and sprints.

The role requires a MSc in Computer Science and 5+ years of C++ experience, with strong testing practices and English communication skills. 4x/week onsite in Madrid is expected.

Formación

• MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in C++ development.
• Experience in application development.
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns such as SOLID, YAGNI, and KISS.
• In-depth understanding of Agile development principles with proven Agile experience.
• Experience writing robust unit tests and end-to-end tests, including mocking external endpoints.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Job Description

Software Development Engineer is part of large global team supporting our Spark software that enables designing and manufacturing of Spark Clear Aligners. Software Development Engineer will work on the initial part of the process- acquisition of raw dental X-ray scans and it's processing into 3D models using machine learning algorithms.

Main Tasks

Working in distributed international cross functional team a developer will help the team with solution design and implementation for new features in desktop and console applications used to generate patient anatomy from supplied scans.

Being a part of agile team we expect a developer will contribute to features refinement working closely with product managers as well as will help development team with planning features to upcoming release and sprints.

This role is based in Madrid with 4x/week onsite requirement.

Job Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in C++ development
• Experience in application development
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns, such as SOLID, YAGNI, and KISS
• In-depth understanding of Agile development principles, with proven experience in Agile teams
• Experience writing robust unit tests and end-to-end tests, including mocking external endpoints for both new and legacy codebases
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with 3D graphics
• Familiarity with geometric frameworks like CGAL, VTK, Embree, or similar technologies
• Experience with Python, especially for batch testing or prototyping purposes
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React
• Experience with GitHub Copilot
