A global power management company is seeking a Software Configuration Engineer to support sales teams and collaborate on technical solutions in power management. The role involves preparing proposals, producing engineering documentation, and working with international teams. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with power distribution systems. Flexible working options and a competitive benefits package are offered.

Formación

• Several years of hands-on engineering experience in power management systems.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems including MV/LV switchgear.
• Ability to work effectively in international and cross-functional project teams.
• Experience with power system automation software and energy or infrastructure management systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, network infrastructure, IEDs, and control logic is an advantage.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with professional working proficiency in English.
• Structured, solution‑oriented approach to resolving technical issues.
• Ability to work effectively in international and cross‑functional project teams.
• Good prioritisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and a proactive “can‑do” mindset.
• Strong safety awareness, with the confidence to stop unsafe activities when required.

Responsabilidades

• Support Sales teams during pre-sales by defining software solutions.
• Prepare budgetary proposals, including architecture and solution descriptions.
• Produce and review engineering documentation as per Eaton standards.
• Support software deployment and testing activities.
• Collaborate with third-party partners to deliver engineering outputs.
• Collaborate with Eaton technical teams and third‑party partners to deliver project outputs.
• Handle escalated Level 3 software support requests within the defined area of responsibility.
• Deliver technical presentations and support customer meetings, solution promotion, and training activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation of engineering processes and tools.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, including safety and technical training.
• Travel as required for customer meetings, site visits, and project execution.

Software Configuration Engineer

This is a hybrid position based in the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Poland (Warsaw) or Spain (Madrid, Barcelona or Zaragoza).

What You’ll Do

• Support Sales teams during pre‑sales by helping define and clarify the technical scope of software solutions such as EPMS, SCADA, DCIM, and Energy Management Systems.
• Contribute to the preparation of budgetary and binding proposals, including system architecture, topology drawings, hardware BOMs, schedules, and solution descriptions.
• Produce, review, and validate engineering documentation in line with project requirements and Eaton standards.
• Support software deployment and testing activities, including on‑site work when required.
• Work with Project Management and Sales to support scope changes, identify technical risks, and contribute to mitigation actions.
• Collaborate with Eaton technical teams and third‑party partners to deliver project engineering outputs.
• Handle escalated Level 3 software support requests within the defined area of responsibility.
• Deliver technical presentations and support customer meetings, solution promotion, and training activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation of engineering processes and tools within the System Integration Services team.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, including safety and technical training.
• Travel as required for customer meetings, site visits, and project execution.

Qualifications and Skills

• University degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Power Management, Automation, or a related discipline.
• Several years of hands‑on engineering experience with power management systems, ideally within data centre or critical infrastructure environments.
• Working knowledge of power distribution systems, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, and EPMS / DCIM solutions.
• Experience with power system automation software and energy or infrastructure management systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, network infrastructure, IEDs, and control logic is an advantage.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with professional working proficiency in English.
• Structured, solution‑oriented approach to resolving technical issues.
• Ability to work effectively in international and cross‑functional project teams.
