Zurich Insurance Group, via ServiZurich in Barcelona, seeks a Senior SAM Specialist focused on Microsoft enterprise software with Oracle/Red Hat exposure. You will drive software asset management, optimize licensing spend, and ensure compliance across global IT units.

You will analyze data, work with stakeholders, and implement opportunities to remediate risks while leveraging AI to improve SAM efficiency. This role offers a competitive salary and flexible working options.

• 5+ years of proven experience with Microsoft and Oracle or Red Hat software portfolio in enterprise environments.
• Creating comprehensive fully optimized ELPs from data collection to finish.
• Strong understanding of license restrictions, benefits, optimization opportunities, BYOL concepts for product use within AWS/Azure Cloud.
• Hands-on work with Microsoft system and usage billing, tracking and measurement tools.
• Proficient use of SAM tools (e.g., FlexeraOne) and supporting data sources.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (V/H-Lookups, Pivots, Complex calculations).
• Proven track record in adopting and embedding AI solutions in SAM operations.

• Provide subject matter expertise in SAM operations and licensing topics for Microsoft and Oracle or Red Hat.
• Understand Microsoft licensing concepts across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Navigate Microsoft licensing billing/tracking systems and tools (Azure AD, CMDB, Intune).
• Navigate and leverage Microsoft/Oracle/Red Hat billing/tracking systems.
• Ensure transparency of SW contract costs and fair allocation to BUs.
• Negotiate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Maintain stakeholder community and information sharing.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, mitigate compliance risks, and improve SAM practices.
• Lead changes in complex software contract negotiations and updates.
• Support global SAM standards, processes, and metrics.
• Leverage AI to reduce manual effort and identify optimization opportunities.
• Support day-to-day activities of the global SAM team.

The Role

Zurich Insurance group is looking for a senior SAM specialist who specializes primarily in Microsoft enterprise software and secondarily in Oracle or Red Hat to join global Software Asset Management function with an objective to optimize software contract spend, manage compliance, analyses data, draw the relevant conclusions and then work with others to implement opportunities or remediate risks. This is a challenging senior role, requiring a broad understanding of IT technology, service management processes and the ability to collaborate with many different stakeholder groups within Zurich Group.

Group Technology and Operations Software Asset Management comprises of an international team of SAM experts in four countries, who manage a multi-million-dollar software portfolio and SAM technology stack to support IT stakeholders in achieving their objectives. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who would like to work at a groupwide global level in defining and implementing 'Best Practice' methodologies related to SAM service in Microsoft and Oracle or/and Red Hat space.

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our global Commercial Insurance team.

• Subject matter expertise, in-depth and proven knowledge of SAM operations and competencies, with ability to apply and advise on complex software licensing topics and produce ELPs specifically for Microsoft and Oracle or Red Hat across all IT environments.
• Understand Microsoft licensing concepts and product use rights within containers, in on prem as well as in cloud operating environments.
• Navigate and leverage Microsoft software related billing, tracking and measurement systems and tools like Azure Active Directory, CMDB, My Access, Intune.
• Navigate and leverage Microsoft and Oracle or Red Hat software related billing, tracking and measurement systems
• Provide transparency of costs for SW contracts and assure fair allocation of charges to BUs and Service owners based on software usage.
• Negotiate successfully across the organization and with external suppliers/vendors in a constructive and collaborative manner.
• Maintain stakeholder community and enables information sharing environment.
• Identify and drive proactively initiatives to achieve SW related savings, mitigate compliance risks, developing best practices and processes, to continuously improve software asset management service and to ensure compliance with budget and contractual requirements.
• Identify necessary changes and play key role in the complex software contract negotiations, manage demand and contract updates, liaise with external vendors, legal, contract and sourcing teams.
• Support and drive implementation of global SAM standards, processes, controls, reporting, and monitor agreed performance indicators and control metrics.
• Improve continuously SAM by leveraging AI capabilities to reduce manual effort, able to identify recurring patterns and spot optimization opportunities.
• Support other day-to-day activities of the global SAM team

• proven track record in adopting and embedding AI solutions in SAM operations,
• profit and Loss (P&L) calculations and accruals for cost impact.

• Fluent spoken and written English (strong B2+).
