Job summary

iPronics is redefining optical networking for AI and next-generation datacenter infrastructures with programmable photonics. We seek an SOA Development Engineer to join our growing team and help design and optimize semiconductor optical amplifiers for scalable photonic systems.

You will work at the intersection of device physics, materials science and manufacturing, collaborating with system, packaging, and integration teams while maintaining clear design documentation.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years or MSc with 5+ years of industry experience in photonics or related field.
• Strong experience with III-V devices such as optical amplifiers or lasers.
• Proven skills in device modeling and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Designing and optimizing epitaxial layer stacks to achieve target device performance.
• Performing device simulation and modeling to predict and improve behavior.
• Applying DfM/DfT principles to enable scalable, high-yield solutions.
• Developing tests and characterization routines for fabricated devices.
• Collaborating with suppliers, foundries, and cross-functional teams.
