Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Snowflake & DBT Data Engineer to manage and optimize our data platform supporting analytics and business operations in asset management. You will handle Snowflake environments, implement DBT Core and Cloud projects, and collaborate with data teams to translate requirements into scalable data models.

The role focuses on ensuring data quality, secure access, cost-effective operations, and robust scheduling of pipelines in a hybrid work setup in Madrid.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with Snowflake administration
• Strong practical knowledge of DBT Core including tests and docs
• Experience with DBT Cloud, environments and jobs
• Proficient in SQL and Python for data transformations
• Version control using GitHub and standardized coding practices
• Understanding of asset management domain beneficial

Responsibilities

• Manage Snowflake environments for high availability and security
• Perform DBT testing on Snowflake pipelines
• Configure Snowflake Tasks to orchestrate data workflows
• Administer account-level settings, roles, and resource allocation
• Develop and maintain DBT Core projects with robust transformations
• Create DBT macros for reusable logic and consistent coding
• Oversee DBT Cloud deployments and run configurations
• Collaborate with engineers to model data for analytics
• Monitor pipelines and troubleshoot to minimize disruption
• Implement data security and governance controls in Snowflake
• Coordinate with infra to integrate Snowflake/DBT with enterprise tools
• Document configurations and runbooks for onboarding
• Drive platform optimization and improved performance
