Descripción del empleo
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.

My client is a strong leader and innovator in disruptive video content delivery technology (MultiCDN) solutions used by many streaming and broadcasting organisations worldwide. They are looking to expand their workforce and keen to hire a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for Cloud Infrastructures that combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed systems.

The cloud engineer (SRE) is a key role in our growing and dynamic Cloud platform. Whilst remote working is fully supported and encouraged, it is also important to start the day in tandem with the team. Be part of a company with a portfolio of disruptive products in the content delivery and media streaming industries. We are expanding internationally beyond our core team currently located in Tenerife (Canary Islands) to ensure we deliver high-quality products and services to both our current and future international customers.

Having grown during the past years from a small startup, my client are looking for even more growth bringing more exceptional individuals to their Engineering team. They have engagements with top players and clients in the industry with global audiences, with plans on expanding our operations with new and exciting products.

We're looking for a hands‑on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help us in designing, developing and maintaining the infrastructure components and services required to support and run a wide variety of workloads and workflows in a cloud environment. To achieve this, you will also proactively apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to identify system weaknesses and find ways to prevent them from happening and causing production issues, using monitoring data, watching trends, and being able to apply state‑of‑the‑art technologies.

Support your and, if needed, other teams with the integration and testing of the components and systems required for the software solutions managed by the team, helping to develop the required infrastructure and automations to ensure a high quality development and deployment process (GitlabCI, CICD in general, Terraform with AWS, etc.).

Constantly improve the monitoring solutions that enable your team to be aware of any possible issues in our cloud environments, implementing suitable automations and alerting triggers.

Stay up-to-date with SRE / DevOps’ newest tools and strategies.

Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles
  • Solid experience with the AWS cloud provider
  • Usage of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (preferably Terraform) to automate deployments
  • Experience in using source control (Git, GitLab)
  • Support of security best practices, such as IAM configurations, secrets management, and VPC isolation
  • Knowledge in the design and implementation of reliable cloud architectures to allow near‑zero downtime while updating our SaaS solutions applying the necessary update strategies (Blue/Green strategies, Canary releases…)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of GO or PYTHON
  • Good understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus and Grafana LGTM stack)
  • Competence in working with Agile Methodologies (Scrum / Kanban)
  • Although this is a fully remote position and we are flexible with work schedules, we believe it is also important to have several hours a day to deal with tasks that require synchronisation with other members of the team. Typically, meetings and tasks requiring such synchronisation are scheduled between 09:00 and 13:00 Western European [Summer] Time.
Nice to have, in no particular order
  • Serverless architecture background (AWS-Based services like Cognito, Lambdas, Appsync (GraphQL), Cloudfront / S3, etc.)
  • Experience with a variety of open-source databases or message brokers (Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)
  • Experience with performance and / or security testing
  • Exposure to container technologies (ECS, EKS, Docker)
  • Experience contributing to security or observability initiatives in an engineering team
  • Experience working in a collaborative DevOps or CIE culture
  • Experience in container orchestration (Kubernetes)

A stimulating work environment with worldwide customers, with priority on work‑life balance with flexible working hours.
