A leading cloud services provider in Zaragoza is seeking an experienced candidate to oversee operation and maintenance of water supply for data centers across EMEA. Responsibilities include driving infrastructure improvements, ensuring maintenance standards, and engaging with stakeholders to optimize water usage. Ideal candidates will have a relevant Bachelor's degree or significant project management experience in water operations.

Overview

The successful candidate will oversee operation and maintenance of water supply and treatment for AWS Data Centers across EMEA. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to implement infrastructure, safety procedures, and water positive program initiatives to reduce consumption.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization and performance metrics.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed to the highest standards.
• React & respond to any potential customer-impacting event on water infrastructure.
• Manage lifecycle of water improvement projects and act as owner delivering on objectives and targets.
• Proactively engage stakeholder teams to identify optimization opportunities on water consumption or discharge requirements.
• Communicate project status, risk analysis and mitigation plans to leadership.
• Lead process improvement initiatives that improve engineering and cross-team efficiencies.

A Day in the Life

• Create reporting to DCEO and regional leadership water related metrics via QBR.
• Draft, update & maintain method statements, SOPs, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs.
• Perform equipment/system installation, throughput and safety qualifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations or facility maintenance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field, or 7+ years experience as Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation in water operation field.
• 4+ years demonstrated experience managing lifecycle of cross-functional projects.
• 5+ years experience in operations and maintenance requirements for safe water supplies (disinfection, legionella control).
• 3+ years demonstrated organizational capability to react & respond appropriately to any potential customer-impacting event on water infrastructure.

Preferred

• Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• 5+ years demonstrated experience in water treatment and operation and maintenance.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related STEM field.
