rmg digital is seeking a Senior UX Designer for a Barcelona-based client, a global HR and payroll technology company. The role focuses on a new product stream aimed at simplifying HR tasks for ordinary employees who have little time or patience.
You will own the UX end-to-end, collaborate with product managers and engineers across Barcelona and the client's global teams, and design within an established system while testing with real users to back decisions with evidence.
€425 to €450 per day | Barcelona, hybrid | Contract to June 2027 | Start: ASAP
We're hiring a Senior UX Designer for one of our clients, a global HR and payroll technology business with a well-established product and design team in Barcelona.
The role sits on a new product stream focused on simplifying HR processes for the people who actually use them. Not HR specialists. Ordinary employees, doing something once or twice a year, under time pressure, with no training and no patience.
That's the design problem. Take processes built around payroll compliance and make them something a person can complete on their own without ringing HR.
The funding is separate from the main product roadmap, so this stream keeps moving while other teams are tied up on security and resiliency work. You'll have room to actually design rather than firefight.
You're a senior generalist. Research, IA, interaction design, prototyping, and enough visual craft to ship work you're happy to put your name on.
You've designed enterprise or B2B products where the user has a job to finish rather than an experience to enjoy. You can point at something complicated you made simple, and explain how you got there.
Fluent English. No other language needed.
Nice to have: HR tech, payroll, fintech, or anything where regulation sets the boundaries of what you're allowed to design.
One thing worth saying
The hiring manager isn't looking for the flashiest portfolio in the pile. This is process design more than surface design. A beautiful case study for an app that never shipped won't get you far. Bring the messy problem and the thinking.
CV and portfolio review, then interviews with the design lead and team. All Remote.
