Arup in Spain is seeking a Senior Urban Designer to join the City Planning & Design team. You will contribute to urban planning projects, conceptualize development proposals, and coordinate a multidisciplinary group of architects, engineers, and planners to deliver sustainable urban solutions.

You will engage with clients, manage urban feasibility analyses, and help shape long‑term socio‑economic benefits for communities. Fluency in Spanish and strong English are required.

Formación

• Studied Architecture or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Spanish urban planning knowledge is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in the described functions.
• Knowledge of CAD and ArcGIS.
• English at C1 level.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in urban planning projects, including conceptualization of urban development proposals.
• Drafting and processing of planning instruments and urbanization projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (architects, engineers, planners, enviromentalists, sociologists, economists, lawyers).
• Contribute to project communication with clients.

The Opportunity

This is your chance to be part of the City Planning & Design team, an area that is dedicated, among other things, to the planning and development of cities, seeking a balance between the social, economic and environmental dimensions, and always providing the components of sustainability and innovation to all development proposals. You will join a dynamic team and will participate in all cutting‑edge projects carried out in the Department.

As a Senior Urban Designer At Arup, You Will

• Participate in urban planning projects, including conceptualization of urban development proposals, drafting and processing of planning instruments, processing of urbanization projects, urban feasibility analysis, etc.
• Contribute to the integration and coordination of multidisciplinary teams that typically include architects, engineers, urban planners, environmentalists, sociologists, economists and lawyers.
• Contribute to project communication with clients.
• Have a better understanding of urban complexity in an environment continuous training.

• Studies in Architecture or Civil Engineering or related studies
• 5+ years of experience in described functions
• Previous experience in Spanish urban planning, planning, processing (tramitación urbanística), and land development.
• Special interest in urban planning, strategic consultancy, planning, processing, and land development
• It will be essential to have knowledge of CAD and ArcGIS
• Knowledge of Adobe package (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
• Full professional competence in Spanish and h igh level of English (C1)
• Keen for working on multidisciplinary projects and interest in sustainability and innovation.
• High organizational and communication skills.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Master in planning, urban planning, urban processing or territorial organization.
• Knowledge in communication and visualization of urban planning projects
• Advanced knowledge in GIS
• Advanced knowledge in CAD
• Rhinoceros and Grasshopper Knowledge

• Master’s in planning, urban planning or territorial organization
