Job summary

X4 Technology seeks an experienced Embedded Engineer to port and bring up U-Boot on a new SoC, working remotely across Europe. The role emphasizes low-level development near hardware with strong C and ARM expertise.

You will engage in bootloader work, kernel debugging, and upstream processes as part of a long-term contract. The position is fully remote in Europe, offering the chance to influence a next-generation platform while collaborating with hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• Strong Embedded C / low-level development experience.
• Experience with U-Boot.
• Strong understanding of embedded Linux / ARM-based platforms.
• Desirable: high-end MPU experience, Yocto / Linux build systems, Device Tree, Git / GitLab, JIRA, Python, MISRA / static analysis, software testing background.

Responsibilities

• Port and bring up U-Boot on a new SoC.
• Work across the boot chain and support the platform from early bring-up through verification.
• Develop embedded C and low-level software for bootloaders and kernel interactions.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure a robust boot process and hardware bring-up.
