Job summary

GE Vernova GridBeats seeks a Senior Product Systems Architect to shape the architecture and system-level definition of a digital monitoring platform for substations. This product-facing technical leader translates customer needs into feasible system solutions while coordinating engineering teams, suppliers and partners.

You will own the overall architecture across hardware, firmware, software and data layers, drive edge-to-cloud integration, and align with IEC/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or related field (master’s preferred).
• Solid experience in system architecture or complex product development in industrial or energy settings.
• Experience defining systems combining hardware, software, communications and data processing.
• Understanding of systems decomposition and requirements traceability.
• Proven cross-functional leadership across engineering, product, and partners.
• Experience with digital, software-enabled or analytics-driven solutions.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall architecture of the substation monitoring platform, spanning hardware, firmware, software and data layers.
• Translate customer and product needs into system capabilities, interfaces and acceptance criteria.
• Serve as technical bridge between product management, engineering teams, suppliers and customers.
• Create and maintain architecture and interface documentation to guide engineering.
• Lead technical product discovery, feasibility studies, prototypes, and architecture trade-offs.
• Develop platform strategy to support AI/analytics integration and scalable deployment across edge, on-premises and cloud.
• Manage containerization, orchestration and cloud services decisions (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure).
• Support field trials and customer pilots, feeding lessons back into architecture.
