JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior System Administrator with deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), PostgreSQL, and system administration. This role combines infrastructure engineering, site reliability, and technical leadership, focusing on high availability, security, automation, and observability in modern cloud and hybrid environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure in AWS and Azure environments, including migration projects.
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases with high availability, replication, backups, and tuning.
• Build infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Implement advanced monitoring, logging, and tracing with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack for complete observability.
• Automate operational workflows with Python, Bash, and other scripting tools.
• Configure and manage systems using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Design and maintain networking infrastructure, including VLANs, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
• Enforce and audit network security policies and troubleshoot complex connectivity issues across hybrid environments.
• Contribute to technical projects in close collaboration with other IT team members and cross-functional leads.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to align infrastructure with application needs.
• Provide technical mentorship, lead architecture discussions, and guide junior team members.
• Deploy, configure, and support applications running on managed servers.
• Diagnose and resolve system, application, and infrastructure issues across environments.
• Lead the integration of internal infrastructure with corporate IT systems such as directory services and IAM.
• Experience with building and implementing CI/CD pipelines and tools.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 7+ years in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Production-grade expertise in PostgreSQL administration and optimization.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), VLAN configuration, routing, firewall policies, and network segmentation.
• Advanced skills in scripting languages like Python and Bash.
• Proficient with Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning.
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for system configuration.
• Extensive knowledge of observability tools and building telemetry stacks.
• Proven experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and driving best practices in infrastructure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Exposure to AWS or hybrid/multi-cloud architectures.
• Background in software development or CI/CD implementation.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, PostgreSQL, or networking technologies.
