AstraZeneca in Barcelona is seeking a statistically oriented Senior Programmer to lead and deliver programming for global clinical studies from the R&D hub in Barcelona. The role is on-site three days a week, with fluency in English required.

You will collaborate with statisticians, programmers, and data experts to turn complex clinical data into decision-ready evidence for regulatory submissions, shaping study outcomes and automation while adhering to CDISC standards.

Formación

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Life Science, or equivalent.
• Excellent programming skills in SAS (or R) and SAS macros.
• Knowledge of the clinical development process and CDISC.
• Ability to apply programming knowledge to problem solving.
• Ability to manage relevant documentation.
• Ability to influence relevant stakeholders on Programming related items.
• Current knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the role.

Responsabilidades

• Lead programming deliverables for clinical studies or small to medium projects, ensuring clarity of scope and robust plans.
• Deliver high-quality programming outputs on schedule and guide others to meet standards.
• Translate scientific intent into reliable datasets and analyses within protocols and development plans.
• Program independently with high efficiency and precision; apply advanced techniques and macros.
• Write clear programming specifications and ensure audit-ready documentation.
• Adhere to CDISC and internal standards; promote automation for efficiency.
• Drive best practices and technical initiatives to improve quality and speed.
• Identify, manage and communicate programming risks to maintain momentum.
• Collaborate with statisticians, lead programmers, data managers and study leaders to align priorities.
• Partner with contract programming providers to meet AstraZeneca standards.
