Overview

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) drives revenue, adoption, and growth from startups to enterprise-level customers, including public sector. AWS enables founders to access cloud technology at any growth stage, with a track record across startups and unicorns built on AWS.

Startup Solutions Architects work with AWS customers to maximize cloud value, bridging business and technology. They understand customer needs, provide prescriptive guidance, and contribute to technical content and best practices at scale.

You will practice creativity by linking technology to tangible solutions, refining cloud-native reference architectures for various use cases, and growing your expertise in industry and technology areas. You will learn daily from customers, peers, and experiments.

You will join a team responsible for driving adoption of AWS technologies for startups, applying engagement strategies tailored to startups’ unique technology adoption patterns and growth trajectories.

Responsibilities

• As a Solutions Architect, work directly with customers to accelerate challenging projects and recommend best-practice architectures aligned with long-term business outcomes.
• Act as a trusted advisor for startups; guide customers based on their priorities and create value with AWS and Partners’ technology.
• Capture and share the voice of the customer to influence AWS roadmap; participate in creating or updating technical content and reference architectures (e.g., white papers, code samples, blog posts).
• Evangelize and educate about AWS technology through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos, or conferences.

The Day-to-Day

The Solutions Architect team helps customers implement cloud technologies. In a typical week you will meet multiple customers, collaborating on designing and operating well-architected solutions, earning trust, and educating them on AWS capabilities. You will work with internal teams and experts to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures addressing business problems, while continuously learning and innovating.

The AWS startup organization is composed of experts from across the ecosystem, including founders, CTOs, VCs, and mentors who upskill founders to navigate challenges. Basic Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), database systems (SQL and NoSQL), AI tools for development productivity, open-source contributions, and/or version control systems.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning fundamentals with working knowledge of frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or MXNet.
• Knowledge of MLOps tools and workflows for model development, validation, and deployment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences across internal and external organizations.
• Fluent written and verbal English and Spanish with demonstrated ability to explain technical choices to business and technology stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience architecting/operating AWS-based solutions and/or AWS certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional).
• Hands-on experience benchmarking and optimizing model performance on GPUs, Trainium/Inferentia, TPU/AI ASICs with high-speed networking.
• Understanding of tuning generative AI foundation models (RAG, PEFT, RLHF, DPO).
• Experience scaling model training and inference using Slurm, ParallelCluster, SageMaker.
• Experience deploying large-scale ML/DL models and systems into production, including batch and real-time data processing.
