Job summary

Mozilla seeks a Senior Software Engineer for AMO, delivering features and platform modernization across Python/Django-based systems. You’ll drive architectural improvements, enhance automated moderation pipelines, and collaborate with engineers, reviewers, and community contributors to ship reliable software used by millions.

You’ll contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build robust observability, and create clear design docs and runbooks while mentoring peers in a distributed team environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production Python/Django applications.
• Strong design and coding skills in large-scale systems.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Proficient in observability with metrics, logs, traces, and SLOs.
• Excellent debugging of complex production issues.
• Strong technical writing for design docs and runbooks.
• Able to collaborate in a distributed team and mentor peers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver major features and architectural improvements across the Add-ons stack.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and production readiness with declarative pipelines.
• Build robust observability and data-backed insights.
• Collaborate with designers, PMs, QA, and community contributors.
• Create and maintain design notes, ADRs, and incident runbooks.
• Work across Python/Django, MySQL, React/TypeScript in AMO systems.
• Contribute to open source and participate in peer reviews.
