SAMY Iberia is seeking a Senior Social Media Strategist to lead the strategic and tactical development of social media plans, driving reach and engagement through platform best practices and data-driven decision-making. You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution to maximize business impact.

Based in Madrid with hybrid work options, you will work with cross-functional teams to optimize campaigns, analyze results and present clear recommendations to clients, leveraging UTM tagging

Formación

• Significant experience designing and leading social media strategies across multiple platforms.
• Deep knowledge of platform dynamics, formats, algorithms, and advertising capabilities.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management with the ability to defend strategic recommendations.
• Understanding of UTM structures, tagging, governance and social tech setups.
• Hands-on experience with analytics, KPIs, A/B testing and optimization.

Role Mission

We are looking for a Senior Social Media Strategist to lead the strategic and tactical development of social media strategies, driving performance through platform best practices and data-driven decision-making. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on platform expertise to ensure social strategies maximize reach, engagement and overall business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the social media strategy by platform, including content calendarization, publishing and boosting recommendations when applicable, and lead the continuous tactical optimization of social activity through A/B testing across formats, copy, timings, cadence and placements.
• Ensure proper channel setup and technical implementation, including tagging, UTM structures, permissions and relevant integrations, while ensuring compliance with platform best practices, policies, accessibility and brand safety requirements.
• Work closely with Community Management, Creative, Paid Media and Data teams, as well as external agency partners, to activate strategic recommendations, identify social trends and relevant conversations, and ensure alignment across channels.
• Act as a senior point of contact for the client, confidently presenting and defending strategic recommendations in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
• Translate performance data and social insights into clear, actionable recommendations, contributing to the evolution of social measurement and listening approaches.
  

Key Deliverables

• Weekly and monthly performance reports, including channel KPIs, key learnings and next steps.
• Campaign optimization packages, documenting A/B tests, changes implemented and results achieved, alongside platform-specific tactical recommendations covering formats, timing/frequency, placements and suggested boosting.
• Key findings reports, including executive summaries, implications and actionable recommendations.
• Social Intelligence Hub (SIH) insights and opportunity reports, translating relevant social conversations and signals into actionable business recommendations, together with recommendations for the evolution of social measurement and listening based on emerging needs, learnings and platform developments.
  

Skills & Experience

• Significant experience in Social Media Strategy, ideally within an agency or consultancy environment, with proven experience developing and optimizing multi-platform social strategies.
• Deep understanding of the specific dynamics, formats, algorithms, best practices and advertising capabilities of major social platforms, as well as brand safety, accessibility and platform policies.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently present and defend strategic recommendations, combined with excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, the ability to turn data into clear actions, collaborate effectively across Strategy, Creative, Community Management and Data, and operate proactively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving social media environment.
• Understanding of UTM structures, tagging, channel governance and social media technical setups, with the ability to identify and translate trends, conversations and social signals into strategic and tactical opportunities.
• Solid knowledge of social media performance metrics, analytics and measurement frameworks, with hands‑on experience with A/B testing, content optimization, boosting and tactical performance management.
