Job summary

Based in Barcelona, Helsing's robotics engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own electromechanical systems from concept to production, ensuring platforms are robust, scalable, and ready for real-world deployment.

You will collaborate with electrical, firmware, and software engineers to deliver high-performance robotic platforms while applying SolidWorks, GD&T, FEA, and rigorous manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modelling, ideally SolidWorks, with deep knowledge of GD&T for precision manufacturing.
• Applied structural and thermal FEA, static simulations, and tolerance stack-up analysis to solve engineering problems.
• Experience across CNC machining, injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication and additive manufacturing in high-mix or low-to-medium volume environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design and integration of robotic subsystems from concept through to production.
• Drive cross-functional integration with electrical and software teams for packaging, routing, cooling, and sensor integration.
• Define material selection strategies and fabrication methods; conduct FEA, stress analysis, and tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Establish mechanical engineering best practices, modelling standards, GD&T drawing controls, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate system architectures in design reviews to optimize performance and manufacturability.
