Novicap is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to own credit underwriting and monitoring activities for SMEs in Spain. You will manage risk assessments, fraud checks, and collateral valuation to support the company's lending decisions.

The role requires deep knowledge of credit risk, working capital products, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to the underwriting team. Hybrid Madrid office, competitive benefits and career growth.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, or Finance required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in credit underwriting/risk analysis in banking, lending, or finance.
• Strong proficiency in financial statement analysis and accounting principles.
• Understanding of Working Capital products (Factoring, Confirming) and related tools.
• Experience using risk platforms and creating risk reports for underwriting decisions.

Responsabilidades

• Execute end-to-end risk analysis for new and existing clients using the Novicap Platform and external tools.
• Perform fraud checks and operational viability filters before deep financial analysis.
• Assess and value third-party credit assignments using Novicap’s collateral methodology.
• Approve transactions within attribution matrix or prepare Risk Reports for escalation.
• Manage daily alerts via Early Warning System and coordinate with Operations to resolve blocks.
• Ensure Risk Reports for Debtors and Suppliers are up-to-date per required frequency.
• Collaborate with Collections, Operations, and Commercial teams and document lessons learned.

Novicap is an end-to-end working capital solutions provider focused on enabling CFOs/Finance teams of SMEs to pay their suppliers and collect from their customers. This includes short-term credit (factoring, supply chain finance and loans) and payment automation solutions.

With offices in Barcelona and Madrid, we are currently looking for a Senior Risk Analyst who wants to join our team. You will take ownership of credit underwriting & monitoring activities at Novicap with the view to reduce and mitigate the impact of credit and fraud risk. Given that providing financing to SMEs and mid‑market corporates is core to our vision, managing credit and fraud risk is crucial to Novicap’s continued success.

Your mission

As mentioned, you will take ownership of credit underwriting & monitoring activities at Novicap.

In order to achieve your mission, you will:

• Execute end-to-end risk analysis for new and existing clients (Corporate Rating/Risk Basket and Direct Risk assignment) using the Novicap Platform and external tools.
• Perform fraud checks and operational viability filters before deep financial analysis.
• Assess and value third‑party credit assignments (recurrent cash flows or contracts) using Novicap’s Collateral methodology.
• Approve transactions within assigned attributions or prepare comprehensive "Risk Reports" to elevate complex cases to the Underwriting Manager or the Underwriting Committee.
• Manage daily alerts via the Early Warning System (e.g. CIRBE changes, tax debts, unpaid bureaus) and resolve account blocks in coordination with Operations.
• Ensure all assigned Debtors and Suppliers have valid, up‑to‑date Risk Reports, based on the relevant frequency (from quarterly to annually, depending on the case).
• Participate in weekly or monthly coordination with other teams (e.g. Collections, Operations, Commercial) and document lessons learned in internal documents.

Who will you work with?

You will report directly to the Underwriting Manager and work closely with the rest of the Underwriting teams across Madrid and Barcelona. We are a young and dynamic team that’s waiting for you with arms open!

You are who we are looking for if you:

• A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, or Finance.
• A minimum of 5 years experience working as a credit underwriting analyst in a top 5 bank, an alternative lender, or a Big 4 in Spain.
• Proficiency in financial statement analysis and accounting principles.
• An understanding of Working Capital products (Factoring, Confirming).
• The ability to work within the Novicap Platform and Dashboards.
• The ability to synthesize complex financial data (P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow) into a clear "Risk Basket" (1‑19), according to the Underwriting Policy
• The capability of making autonomous decisions within the Attribution Matrix.
• The ability to explain rejections or conditions clearly to Commercial teams ("Reject and Explain" protocol).
• The proactiveness investigation of potential "orange/red flags" in the Early Warning System.
• The ability to work across teams, with a positive and problem‑solving attitude, in particular when facing the Commercial team.
